MARCH 2ND: MUJU PERFORM ‘MARCH’ AT UPSTARTS FESTIVAL
The MUJU Crew felt it was time to tackle head on what they felt to be a main obstacle to good Muslim and Jewish community relations at home, namely conflicts overseas.
‘March’ tells the story of two hacks on a local paper (one Muslim, one Jewish) covering a protest rally, the play only hints at its cause. The play examines pressures on the media to distort the way the event is represented and shows the resulting fallout within both communities. The performance was described as ‘relaxed, witty and thoughtful’ and praised for its mature self-criticism.
